The RISE Process
RISE is a speculative research-creation project designed to enrich our knowledge and experience of potential futures by enacting them dramatically. Scenario enactment and thinking are utilized as a way to do collaborative research into the future—embodying imagination/speculation through combined “thinking”, “being in”, “experiencing,” and “feeling”. RISE’s multimodal research is supported and inspired by several methods/approaches including speculative research, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), iterative process, critical reflection, and grounded theory.
